The Big Help Out, part of the Coronation celebrations, gave us the perfect opportunity to promote volunteering in the shop and a chance to say a big Thank you to all our volunteers, the shop wouldn’t be able to function without you. And special thanks to those who were happy to work on the Coronation Bank Holiday.  That evening, we held a volunteer skittles evening at The Half Moon Inn. Always good to get our volunteers together.

And mid May also marked our 5ht birthday.

Thanks to Kevin for inviting Cllr Peter Holland, former headmaster of Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School and a recent mayor of Exeter to come and cut the cake. Many thanks to Peter for giving up his Saturday morning and it was great to see a number of former parents and past pupils came along to have a good catch up. Thanks to Jenny Berg for making the cake for us and to Julie Chapple for decorating it.

Thanks to everyone who donated goods for the Tombola and helped on the day with the various games and making the teas and coffees.  It was good to see so many villagers, young and older, take part in the various games, be it-  ‘Guess the weight of the cheese’, Treasure map, Hoop-la and more.  A total of £105.55 was raised for shop funds.
